Melbourne Cup was a great success! The hat competition was judged by Jenny McCulloch, Pat Waite and Graeme Leaming. There were some interesting hats. The woman’s section winners were “Our Aussie Import” Gwen Gould and from “The Royal Box”, Vera Burgess. The men’s section winner was “Quick Silver” Gerald Wareing.
There were some very happy punters too. Thank you to David Hunt and his helpers on the Sweepstake and also to the hat competition judges.
What would we do without the bar workers and Dianne Thackray who provided the bisuits and cheese?
